Tapduk Emre
Tapduk Emre (d. 1210-1215, d. ?)
• A Turkish dervish from the Horasan
region, the spiritual master of Yunus Emre.
• Hacı Bektaş Veli entrusted the task of
raising Yunus Emre to Taptuk Emre.
• Starting from Taptuk Emre, the existence
of a "Taptuklu" community is encountered in Anatolia.
Tapduk Emre
• Yunus, the dervish who carried firewood
to the Taptuk Emre dergah in Nallıhan for forty years, is considered one of the
greatest poets raised by the Taptuklular.
• The word "Tapduk" is a name
that also existed in pre-Islamic Turkish communities.
• Tapduk is a legendary hero mentioned in
Turkish and Altay mythology. He is believed to have descended from the sky to
cleanse malevolent beings. He is also referred to as Tapdık or Taptık.
