Usuli
Usûlî (? - 1538/39)
• Usûlî is a poet of Ottoman Divan literature and a mystic. He
was born in Vardar Yenicesi and was affiliated with Sheikh İbrahim Gülşenî.
• His works were admired and his name became known during his
lifetime. Although he lived a poor life, it is known that he was proud and
honorable and did not share his state with others.
• The most prominent feature in his works is his mystical views.
Additionally, his language is considered very refined for its time. He did not
leave behind a large body of work.
