Yunus Emre (1238-1328)
• A renowned Sufi and folk poet who
pioneered Turkish poetry in Anatolia.
• From the mid-13th century to the first
quarter of the 14th century, various Turkish beyliks, both large and small,
began to be established in different regions of Anatolia.

• He was raised in Sarıköy, located in the
central Anatolian basin, near Eskişehir.
• He lived in the dergah of Tapduk Emre in
Nallıhan, Ankara.

• Works: • Divan: Yunus Emre's poems are
collected in this Divan. The poems are written in aruz meter and syllabic
meter. There are copies such as the Fatih manuscript, Nuruosmaniye manuscript,
Yahya Efendi manuscript, Karaman manuscript, Balıkesir manuscript, Niyazi Mısrî
manuscript, and Bursa manuscripts.
• Risalet-ün Nushiyye: It is believed to
have been written in 1307. The work is written in the form of a mesnevi and
consists of 573 couplets. It is a religious, Sufi, and moral book.
